Exactly what Opal asks for, and why.
These are the scope names as YouTube shows them on its own consent screen. Nothing else is requested.
What it grants. Permission to upload videos to the connected channel.
How Opal uses it. Uploading an approved video at its scheduled time. Nothing else is changed on the channel.
What it grants. Permission to manage the connected channel’s videos, captions and playlists.
How Opal uses it. Attaching a film’s caption track (.srt) and adding the film to its playlist in canon order, right after the upload. Never used to edit, delete or comment on anything else.
What it grants. Read access to the connected channel’s basic details.
How Opal uses it. Showing the channel’s name and handle on the Channels screen so you can confirm the right channel is connected.
What to expect from this channel.
- Opal never reads subscribers, comments, watch history or analytics.
- An upload is never retried in a way that could duplicate a video.
- Uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (youtube.com/t/terms); Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) applies.
- Revoke at any time from your Google Account, under Security, Third-party connections (myaccount.google.com/permissions).
